36 Weeks

To be quite honest, I'm a little surprised that I am writing this post.  Four weeks ago I thought for sure that this baby would be born by now.  But the bed rest and taking it easy has done what it was supposed to do:  bought this baby more time in utero:)  Which I know is a good thing, but I'm done sitting around and waiting for the baby to come now.  It's time to get back to my normal life:)  In fact, I found myself wondering the other day if just going to work for awhile would make me go into labor.  After all, it worked for my other two pregnancies:)  (I won't be going back to work until after this baby is born; it was just a thought:).

I had my 36 week appointment with the midwife yesterday and there really is nothing different or new to report.  My weight and blood pressure were fine, and I'm measuring at 35 cm.  The baby's heart rate has dropped into the upper 130s (which is normal as the baby reaches term), and he/she is still head down and low.  My cervix is unchanged from last week, which I was a little discouraged about since it has been progressive up until now, but I also know that those numbers don't necessarily indicate when labor is going to happen, so I have to let those feelings go.  Overall, things look great and the midwife was happy to see that I was still pregnant, although she did suggest a few things to try if I wanted to get labor started:)

So for now, we wait for this baby and when he/she is ready to enter this world.  The 'baby to-do list' is all complete and the house is cleaner than it's been in a long time.  We're ready...it's time to meet this little one:)
