I have a belly book that I'm doing my best to document this pregnancy in, and one of the statements to fill out is "The first time I felt you hiccup in my belly." I have left it blank so far and was even commenting to my mom the other day that I have never felt the baby have hiccups in any of my pregnancies thus far. Well, in the middle of the night last night I actually felt this baby have the hiccups!
Bryson was sleeping in my bed with me (because he hasn't been feeling well), and he had woken up crying about his ear hurting. I had Travis go and get him some Ibuprofen for his fever after about an hour and a half of him tossing and turning in bed, and soon thereafter he was sound asleep. I, on the other hand, was wide awake:) So I laid in bed for awhile, trying to fall back to sleep. All of a sudden I felt the rhythmic movements in my lower belly that I soon realized was the baby having the hiccups. Even though it was the middle of the night, I was glad that I was awake to experience and remember this moment. To make the moment even better, "Baby of Mine" started playing on the Pandora station we were listening to. I put my hands on my belly and cherished the gift and blessing that I have growing inside of me.
I sure am going to miss being pregnant.
Update- Travis took Bryson to urgent care the next morning and it turns out he has a double middle ear infection. Poor guy. So he's now on Amoxicillin for 10 days. It's a good thing he likes taking medicine:)
